This weekend has known a humanitarian disaster ,and it represented in a violent earthquake hit "Nepal" country, in Asia,and as we know, the role of technology is always present, where both of Facebook and Google participated in the rescue efforts for the victims of the earthquake.
Facebook has activated the "Safety Check" feature in the State of Nepal ,and it's the feature that had been announced earlier, and that will allow users who are in the danger zone inform their families and friends that they are in good health and they are safe from risk of violent tremor.
Also,Google has activated the "Person Finder" feature to allow users who are in the affected areas to report on their condition, as well as to report on the status of other people with them, and this feature launched by Google in 2010 after the earthquake similar ground in the Chile state and then in Japan In 2011.
These new events show the importance of the social media, and their new roles away from the main role.
